A wide ranging optimism has filled the air after the Union home Minister Amit Shah’s three day visit that concluded on Wednesday that much-awaited Assembly elections could be held in March-April next year as much of the work needed for the polls- the delimitation of constituencies has been done , and the electoral rolls are undergoing revision .
The electoral rolls revision for 90 constituencies , as notified by the Delimitation Commission report submitted on May 5 this year , is scheduled to be completed by November 25 this year , in which all the sections that had no voting rights in the previous elections due to their ineligibility imposed by Article 370 , will be included as the constitutional provision has been dumped once and for all in August 2019.
