Police said that an unidentified militant was killed while another managed to escape in a retaliatory action in Baghat area of Srinagar this evening.
The gun shots were heard in evening in the area creating panic among people.
Police said that militants fired upon a police party and in retaliation, a militant was killed while another escaped. More details are awaited.
