Srinagar, October 16: Omar Abdullah has taken oath of office and secrecy as new Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
He has inducted five ministers – two from the Valley and three from Jammu region. The surprise is that Surinder Choudhary has been named as Deputy Chief Minister. He had defeated BJP president Ravinder Raina.
Senior most member in the new cabinet is Sakina Ittoo . She won Assembly elections for the sixth time in a row. All others are new faces in the cabinet. Javed Dar , Javed Rana, Satish Sharma .
