Jammu, September 03:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has initiated the process of ending “ Dil aur Dilli se duri” between the people of Ja of outreach to the people of the Union Territory for the next over two months beginning September 10.
The Home Ministry under the leadership of Home Minister Amit Shah , as per the plans to reach out to the people, will be deputing more than six dozen ministers to the UT to interact with the masses, their local leaders in panchayats, Block Development Councils and District Development Councils .
Sources in the Union Home Ministry told J K News Today that this plan was in the making before Prime Minister convened all party-meet in New Delhi on June 24, where he translated it in the emotion filled words of bridging gaps between hearts and Delhi that supposedly exist between Delhi and the people of the UT.
These sources revealed that the union ministers would travel to length and breadth of the Union territory, interact with masses, document their grievances as also take their feedback on the functioning of the grassroots democratic institutions that have come into place in Jammu and Kashmir for the first time in its history.
“ The main focus would be to assess how the infrastructural development and the functioning of the grassroots democratic institutions has changed their way of life and thinking,” and the visiting ministers would also ascertain that what more the people want and how.
Essentially , this is the exercise to connect the people with all the initiatives that the Modi government has taken over the past three years, especially after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35 A on August 5, 2019.
This also gels with PM’s promises made during the course of his speeches from Red Fort on Independence Days of 2019, 2020 , and 2021. He has lived up to his promise of having the grassroots democratic institutions in place in Jammu and Kashmir which have become the springing board for the new leadership to showcase its capabilities.
It may be recalled here that working as per the plans of Prime Minister vis-à-vis Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha put his head and heart in making the people of Jammu and Kashmir taste the democratic and governance approach of the Centre. The Government is now waiting for the Delimitation Commission report and the subsequent announcement by the Election Commission to announce Assembly polls for Jammu and Kashmir. Prime Minister has already given his word that the “ preparations for the polls were going on”.
The visit of the ministers , sources said , would be coordinated by MoS PMO Jitendra Singh ..
The ministers will submit their feedback to Home Minister to get the matters going on the basis of the reports.
