Prime Minister Narendra Modi today expressed his deep gratitude to all individuals who dedicate themselves tirelessly to the service of others and work towards a healthier planet on the occasion of World Health Day.

Reaffirming the national commitment to building a healthier society, Shri Modi urged for continued collective efforts to strengthen healthcare systems and prioritize the well-being of every individual. 

The Prime Minister also extended his best wishes for the good health of all citizens, encouraging everyone to make every possible effort to maintain their personal fitness.  In this context, the Prime Minister shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam highlighting benefits of physical exercise

लाघवं कर्मसामर्थ्यं दीप्तोऽग्निर्मेदसः क्षयः।
विभक्तघनगात्रत्वं व्यायामादुपजायते॥”

Exercise increases the capacity to work, kindles the digestive fire, reduces obesity and the parts of the body begin to become strong and well-proportioned.
