Continuing its drive against absconding criminals who are evading arrests since years & decades, Reasi Police launched a major strike on absconders of district Reasi and arrested twenty one absconders in a series of raids conducted throughout the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir during the last 24 hours.
Reasi Police has created a national record of the highest number of simultaneous arrests of absconding criminals within 24 hours, which is a record highest of arrests under general warrant of arrest. Different teams were constituted & sent to different parts of Jammu zone as well as Kashmir zone. Tasks were assigned to Gazetted Officers & NGO’s who accomplished well, in apprehending the underground criminals hiding in disguise at different places.
In a rare case, 34 years after commission of attempt to murder with Arms, Mangat Ram S/O Indru R/O Bakkal (Reasi) absconding in case FIR no 215/1987 U/S 307 RPC 3/25 Arms Act was arrested from Bakkal area of Reasi by a team of Police post Jyotipuram. Accused jumped trial proceedings to avoid conviction and a General Warrant of Arrest under 512 CrPC was issued by Hon’ble Court of Additional Sessions Judge Reasi on 27/11/1997.
Another Absconder Mashooq Ali S/O Mohd Ramzan, a surrendered militant was absconding in two cases of murder with weapons-FIR number 09/2006 U/S 302, 307, 120-B, 121, 123, 436 RPC 7/27 Arms Act and FIR number 67/2006 U/S 302, 307, 120-B, 121 RPC 7/27 Arms Act Police Station Mahore is arrested from Tral in Kashmir. On getting clues of the presence of the accused in Awantipura area, local police were approached & information was confirmed. Accused had jumped trial proceedings after getting bail and couldn’t be apprehended since 2006 as he was hiding in highly militancy infested areas of Kashmir. General Warrants of Arrest under 512 CrPC were issued by Hon’ble Courts of Sessions Judge Reasi. Trial of the murder cases will restart after he is produced in the court of law.
Accused Jagat Ram S/O Ram Saran R/O ward no 1 Seela Reasi arrested after 23 years of his commission of crime in 1989. Trial of case FIR no 88/1989 U/S 332, 382, 148, 149, 224, 225 RPC dated 19/06/1989 of Police Station Reasi is still pending against him for want of his presence in the court. Case of theft was proved against the accused and challaned in the court of law. To avoid conviction, the accused jumped trial proceedings by going underground and couldn’t be apprehended since 1998. A general warrent of arrest under section 512 CrPC was issued against him by Hon’ble Court of JMIC Reasi on 01/06/1998. By meticulous planning team of Police Station Reasi raided and arrested.
Accused Khadam Hussain S/O Mohd Shafi absconding in Case FIR 41/96 against whom General Warrant of Arrest under section 512 CrPC was issued by Hon’ble Court JMIC Reasi on 20/07/1999 was arrested by team of Police Station Arnas from Thakrakote area. To avoid conviction accused jumped trial proceedings and remained underground since last 22 years.
Another Absconder Wazir Mohd S/O Mir Hussain R/O Prankote absconding for the last 22 years in case FIR no 41/96 was arrested today by team of Reasi Police. A General Warrant of Arrest under section 512 CrPC was issued against him on 20/07/99 by Hon’ble Court of JMIC Reasi.
Both Khadam and wazir had been arrested by team of jawans of Reasi Police after continuously tracking for 8 hours and negotiating steep slopes in Pir Panchal mountain range
Team of Police Station Arnas arrested absconder Ram Kumar S/O Gopi Chand R/O Kori Kanthan of Arnas after seven years of his commission of crime who was absconding in case FIR no 135/2004 against whom General Warrant of Arrest under section 512 CrPC was issued by Hon’ble court of JMIC Katra on 26/07/2013.
Team of police post Bhambla conducted raids in Balshama area of Sunderbani Rajouri and arrested another wanted absconder Mohi-ud-din S/O Mohd Sharief R/O Balshama after 15 years of his commission of crime who was absconding in case FIR no 138/2005 U/S 457, 380 RPC of Police Station Reasi. Case stands proved against the accused and challaned. To avoid conviction, accused jumped trial proceedings by going underground and a general Warrant of Arrest under 512 CrPC was issued by Hon’ble court JMIC Reasi on 28/08/2011.
Absconder Kishori Lal S/O Dharam Singh R/O Bhatkote Kishtwar absconding in case FIR 39/2008 arrested by team of Police Station Reasi from Kishtwar Town with the help of Kishtwar Police. Warrant under section 512 CrPC was issued by Hon’ble Court of JMIC Reasi on 08/06/13.
Another Absconder Arjun Kumar @Totu S/O Mohinder Kumar R/O Dhanapardhal Katra absconding in two case FIR no 219/2013 and case FIR no 183/2015 who was arrested by team of Police Station Katra from Dhanapardhal area of Katra. Accused jumped trial proceedings by going underground and two General Warrants of Arrest under section 512 CrPC were issued by Hon’ble Courts of Sessions Judge Reasi and JMIC Katra on 29/04/2019 and 10/11/2015 respectively.
A Woman absconding in a murder case arrested by team of Reasi Police Station after 8 years being charge sheeted. Naseem Bibi W/O Mohd Mushtaq R/O Katra an accused of murder in case FIR no 168/2013 U/S 302/34 RPC of Police Station Katra. General Warrant of Arrest was issued against her by Hon’ble court of Session Judge Reasi on 20/03/2015
Team of Police Station Pouni arrested Joginder Singh S/O Shankaar Singh R/O Beolian Pouni absconding in case FIR 120/2014 of Police Station Katra, against whom General Warrant of Arrest under section 512 CrPC was issued on 04/06/2019.
Another Absconder Chander Mohan S/O Mulkh Raj R/O Barakh Pouni absconding in case FIR no 99/2014 of Police Station Reasi is arrested from Chandi Morh area in raids conducted by team of Police Station Pouni. To avoid conviction accused Chander Mohan evaded trial proceedings by going underground and a general warrent of arrest under section 512 CrPC was issued by Hon’ble court of CJM Reasi on 28/12/2016.
In another raid, accused Ghulam Rasool S/O Abdul Gani R/O Challad Tehsil Arnas arrested by team of Police Station Reasi from Thakrakote area. Ghulam Rasool absconding in case FIR no 48/2014 U/S 379 RPC dated 05/05/2014 of Police Station Reasi. Case stands proved and challaned in the court of law. To avoid conviction accused evaded trial proceedings by going underground and General Warrant of Arrest under section 512 CrPC was issued by Hon’ble court of JMIC Reasi on 22/01/2020.
Absconder Kuldeep Singh S/O Baldev Singh R/O Ranot Tehsil Bhomag absconding in case FIR no 71/2016 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act arrested by team of police post Tote Sahri from Surukote area of Arnas. A General Warrant of Arrest was issued by Hon’ble court of Session Judge Reasi on 13/09/2017.
Riaz Ahmed S/O Mohd Iqbal R/O Kishtwar absconding in case FIR 127/2017 of Police Station Katra was arrested today from Padder area of Kishtwar by team of Reasi Police accompanied by Local Police of Kishtwar. Warrant under section 512 CrPC was issued against him by Hon’ble Court of JMIC Katra on 2/1/2019.
Another accused Angrez Singh S/O Bachhi Singh R/O Sanger Tehsil Pouni & District Reasi who was absconding in Case FIR no 13/2019 Dated 29/01/2019 U/S 379, 201 RPC of Police Station Pouni is arrested from Ransoo area by team of Police Station Ransoo. Case was proved and challaned in the court of law. To avoid conviction accused evaded arrest by going underground & couldn’t be apprehended since registration of FIR in 2019. A ‘General Warrant of Arrest’ under section 512 CrPC was issued by Munsiff JMIC Reasi, against the accused on 16/12/2019 after charge Sheet was produced against the accused.
Team of Police Station Katra arrested Gopal Dass S/O Hari Chand R/O Kandyar Katra absconding in case FIR 260/2019 U/S 307, 447, 323,147 IPC dated 26/11/2019 of Police Station Katra from Kandyar area of Katra. A ‘General Warrent of Arrest’ under section 512 CrPC was issued against him by Hon’ble court of JMIC Katra.
Criminals Yudhvir Singh S/O Aya Singh R/O RS Pura, Pawan Kumar S/O Ram Saran R/O Seela Reasi, Mushtaq Ahmed S/O Abdul Arizona R/O Thuroo and Rashpal Singh S/O Naseeb Singh R/O Thillo Mahore absconding in different case FIR’s also produced in court of law.
In this operation Team Reasi remained successful in nabbing the criminals who are evading their arrests since years. 38 General Warrants of Arrest issued by Hon’ble Courts are being executed.
Under this drive 52 General Warrants have been executed by arresting 40 absconders in last three months by Reasi Police since Sh Shailender Singh took over the charge of SSP Reasi in last week of march this year. Addl SP Amit Bhasin & Surjeet Bhagat, SDPO’s Iftkhar Ahmed (Reasi), Dr Khalid Ashraf (Mahore), Dr Satish Kumar (Arnas), Kuljeet Singh (Katra) have kept the teams energized & followed their respective operations till the production of absconders in concerned courts. SHO’, NGO’s & Jawans have put their best efforts to achieve this milestone against the criminals.
ADGP Jammu zone Sh Mukesh Singh IPS & Sh Suleman Choudhary IPS DIG Udhampur Reasi Range have complemented the officers and their teams in Reasi Police and asked to continue working with same zeal and enthusiasm in curbing down the crime in the district.
