Srinagar, October 22 : Veteran Congress leader and former union minister Saifuddin Soz on Friday challenged former Sadar-e- Riyasat Dr Karan Singh to validate his statement that injustice had been done to Jammu.
In a statement , Soz contested Dr Karan Singh’s statement and declared that he would be the first person to support him if he wants to correct a wrong.
Soz termed Dr Singh’s statement as “ ambiguous “
is pathetic that Dr. Karan Singh has made a totally ambiguous statement on his perception that injustice has been done to Jammu. That cannot and should not happen, when we are part of a democratic country.
Dr. Karan Singh owes it to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and he should come clear on this issue. If it means a democratic debate, people like me are ready for that.
But, if he is seeking only a holiday on his father’s birthday that is not a relevant demand at this point of time when we are having a Union Territory Status!
That issue can be debated only in the Duly Elected J&K Legislature. Hopefully, the elections to the J&K Legislative Assembly will be held in the foreseeable future. That is the only forum that can discuss Dr. Karan Singh’s proposition, that is, at present, lurking in his mind!”
