Jammu, 24 December: Pulse Polio Immunization Campaign was successfully conducted at Jammu Railway Station from December 21 to December 23. This campaign, organized by the Railways in collaboration with the Family Welfare Department, concluded successfully on December 23.
During this campaign, all targeted children aged zero to five years were administered the “two drops of life” polio vaccine. Under the National Pulse Polio Immunization Campaign, polio booths were clearly established at the entrance and platforms of Jammu Railway Station.
During this campaign, it was ensured that no child, especially those traveling with their families, missed receiving the polio vaccine at the main booths of the railway station and on the trains.
Under this three-day Pulse Polio Immunization Campaign, more than 713 children were administered the polio vaccine.
Commenting on the campaign, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Mr. Uchit Singhal, said, “The railway administration provided all possible assistance to the health workers and volunteers. Announcements were made at Jammu Railway Station, and relevant banners were also displayed. He further added that the Railways successfully achieved the target for the immunization drive. This achievement reflects the Railways’ commitment to keeping India polio-free.”
