RAJOURI, DECEMBER 10, 2022: Apni Party Vice President, and Former Cabinet Minister, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali has demanded holding of early assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a gathering following the inauguration of Apni Party Office here, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali said that the Party has inroads in all the regions of Jammu and Kashmir and won the trust of the people due to the unbiased and development based policy.
“Apni Party represented and highlighted the people of J&K when other political parties were not ready to speak up for the people who were in distress following August 5, 2019. The Party leadership came out openly without caring for themselve and tried everything to redress concerns of the people,” he said.
He said that “Over 3 years have passed and the UT administration is working in place of an elected Govt. The administration which should have won the confidence of the people and worked for them has lost the trust of the people. As a result, the gap between administration and the people has widened which has given rise to multiple issues from poor pace of development, growing unemployment, arrogance among Govt officials and failure of Back to Village programmes.”
He said that the Govt formed a public friendly policy but the administration has failed with its failure to perform and fulfil the works projected by the people.
“One can note that the people avoid going to public offices as they know that they will not be listened to,” he said.
To end the suffering of the people, he said that “It is important to hold assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir without delaying it further and restore the Statehood.”
“The people have developed a feeling of alienation with the LG administration and there is a need to end the suffering of the people before it is too late,” he added.
Meanwhile, he also expressed concern over the lack of basic amenities in rural / remote areas, health care facilities, no better road connectivity/infrastructure and education system.
“It is shocking to note that the people in remote areas still lack the basic facilities which are human rights and guaranteed by the Govt,” he added.
