A major terror attack attempt was foiled in the Dessa area of Doda on late Friday evening after alert Village Defence Group (VDG) members responded swiftly.
According to preliminary inputs, around 7:00 PM, three suspected terrorists attempted to target a residential house in Dawalkund village. Acting promptly, VDG members opened fire, forcing the attackers to flee the area.
Security forces were immediately alerted and the area has been put on high alert. Further details are awaited as search and cordon operations may be intensified. No casualties have been officially reported so far.
