Kishtwar BJP leaders’ killers identified –  Governor

Governor  Satya Pal Malik  on Monday  disclosed that the terrorists who  killed  BJP leader Anil Parihar and his brother in Kishtwar on  Thursday evening have been identified and they would soon be booked for the crime that they have committed.

In his  first press conference  ever since he took over as  Governor  in August this year ,  Malik said that the assassins have been identified and soon they would be brought to book . “ The security agencies are doing their work..
“Yes it was an act of terror,”  the Governor said emphatically  in reply to a question whether there  was  any  angle other than the terrorism. He said that  Pakistan , where the mentors of  militants were based, got frustrated with the successful and peaceful municipal polls and brought pressure on the terrorists to “ do something”, and he  said that the killing of the BJP leaders in the  sensitive place like Kishtwar .

He as happy that  both the communities  of Hindus and Muslims had condemned the incident and  offered an unequivocal support for the  maintenance  of peace and harmony in the sensitive area like Kishtwar .

The Governor also announced that the assessment of the damage suffered by the fruit crop in Kashmir would be completed in a day or two and thereafter the Government would take the responsive action , but complimented the administration for having done a “ superb and swift” job by restoring all the services in the record time .

He was confident that the militancy would not be a hurdle in the conduct of the panchayat polls. “ Security forces were working in a complete synergy  and will be overcome all the challenges. He said that the four-phased peaceful elections to the municipal bodies  has shown the  exemplary work done by the administration . He hoped to repeat the same  in the panchayat elections.

He said that he hoped that the dialogue would start soon as the people in Kashmir have realised the futility of violence and acts of terror .
