Jammu, April 11:

Investigating Hawala Nexus in cross-LoC trade, National Investigation Agency (NIA) has once again visited Chakkan-Da-Bagh in Poonch district of Jammu.

Earlier on December 22 last year, a team of National Investigating Agency (NIA) officials also had visited Chakan da Bagh Cross Line of Control (LoC) point in Poonch district for trade and travel service and reportedly checked trade exchange activities (movement of trucks) and relevant records in the office of the custodian, Trade Felicitation Centre (TFC) .

Sources said that it is the follow up of previous year’s raids and an 18-member team of NIA reached Poonch and started its surprise checking, which continued till today evening.

They also said that they have visited the trade point in connection with hawala money racket and funding to separatists. As the hawala money laundering by the Pakistan through cross LoC trade cannot be ruled out as previously also such incidents were reported and besides money, weapons and consignment of drugs was seized on many occasions, which is the issue of national security.
