Issue of Power Crisis in Jammu and Kashmir in this harsh winter season was raised inside the state assembly by National Conference MLA.

The NCMLA Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi raised the issue and amid backed by Congress legislators staged walkout of the House.

NC member during Zero House while raising the issue of power shortage in Kashmir valley said that power scenario has worsened in the Valley. He said that power sector is one of the worst in PDP-BJP rule and added that people in Kashmir are living in dark due to power shortage.

However, Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, replied on the issue but said that the situation in Kashmir in winters is also similar to the situation in summers at Jammu region.

“Same is the condition in Jammu in Summers but efforts are being made to provide uninteruppted power supply to the people of the state,” Dr Singh said.

He said that NC people are politicising the issue following which the opposition members stood on their seats and shouted slogans.

The members entered into the well of the House and staged protest. However, amid shouts, opposition members staged walkout from the House.
