Tiger Division organized a Medical, Veterinary and Agriculture camp at Gajansoo, Jammu on 26 Dec 19. The multipurpose camp inaugurated by Brigadier KK Singh, Commander Chenab Brigade was aimed to provide one step solution to problems faced by local population in Health issues, Animal husbandry and in Agricultural domain. The rural population of border area was widely benefitted by this camp.
Indian Army Chenab Brigade along with Doctors from Army and Civil Administration, Specialists from Department of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture rendered their services during the day long mega event.
The Camp saw wide spread participation from locals including farmers along with their live stock availed medical and veterinary facilities. Essential medical facilities and vital medicines were provided to locals and their livestock. The medical staff also provided counseling in hygiene and sanitation, importance of safe drinking water, preventive measures against ailments and lifestyle diseases.
The local farmers in these regions have limited agricultural growth owing to their traditional agriculture practices, lack of awareness and access to modern market. Indian Army took up this challenge by providing latest agricultural expertise and techniques to the farmers followed by free distribution of hybrid seeds. SBI reps informed about KCC account, its usage and sensitized on asset backed agree- loans.
Brigadier KK Singh interacted with the gathering and the locals expressed their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for undertaking such a noble cause of addressing their problems at doorstep. Overall the camp played an important role in carving out niche to better health and agricultural practices to the local populace.
