Srinagar, October 20 : There are firm indications that the UT government in Jammu and Kashmir may soon take a decision regarding transfer policy of reserved category employees who has been agitating for the same.The government has reconstituted a seven- member panel , headed by Principal Secretary Higher Education department , on Thursday to submit its recommendations regarding the transfer policy of the reserved category employees .The reserved category employees had been pressing for the transfer policy that accords them safety and security of their lives as also dignity of life at their places of work and helps them to live along with their families.This demand had surfaced within days after the killing of Rajni Bala, a resident of Samba district in Jammu, in Kulgam, Kashmir, at the hands of terrorists on May 31.Her killing preceded by the murder of Kashmiri Pandit employee Rahul Bhat by terrorists in Chadoora, Budgam in Central Kashmir on May 12 , had injected a sense of fear among the reserved category employees serving in Kashmir.Kashmiri Pandit employees serving under PM’s package had already started agitation for their transfer from the Valley to Jammu.As per a government notification on Thursday , a seven member panel has been tasked to study the matter and submit its report in time bound manner.Other members of the reconstituted committee are: Commissioner/Secretary , Social Welfare department, Divisional Commissioners of Kashmir and Jammu divisions, secretary law and justice department, Secretary General Administration Department , and representative of ARI department.
