Doda, February 9: Continuing its war to tighten the noose of drug peddlers, Doda Police apprehended a drug peddler from Doda town with heroin from his possession.
Giving details, Police said that a Police party by sub inspector Subash Singh Incharge Police Post diatrict hospital Doda while conducting checking and frisking of vehicles as well as pedestrians near Naka point on Bharath road observed suspicious movement of one person who was going towards Doda town from Bharath side.
On seeing police party, the said person tried to escape but he was chased by the police party and during his personal search, heroin like substance was recovered from his possession. “On enquiry, the accused person was identified as Rizwan Ishaq age 20 years son of Mohd Ishaq Najar resident of Puneja Bhaderwah,” police added.
In this connection, case FIR No.28/2023 under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered at PS Doda and investigation of the case has been started.
Doda Police has appealed the general public to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighborhood and cooperate with Police by providing information and inputs if any drug peddler is noticed so that stringent action could be taken against such elements in the District.
