Jammu, March 18 (JKNT) : External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar today ruled out normalization of India-China relations unless Beijing delivers on its word to remove all the irritants on the border in eastern Ladakh where now for the past nearly four years the situation is “ dangerous.”
During an interaction in India Today conclave on Saturday, EAM felt betrayed that Chinese side despite having made the promise to de-escalate and disengage from the friction points in eastern Ladakh did not deliver on world. It, therefore, has made the situation quite challenging.
Jaishankar gave detailed account of the situation at the LAC , where China violated the terms and conditions of the Peace and Tranquility Agreement between the two countries in April 2020 . He also claimed that June 2020 Galwan Valley clashes took place as the Indian army had resisted the Chinese attempt to unilaterally change the status at the LAC.
He dismissed the charges that India had lost territory to China , though he agreed that there were certain areas where Indians don’t patrol, but there also are areas where Chinese don’t patrol.
Jaishankar ridiculed former Congress president Rahul Gandhi for his friendly remarks about China and at the same time dismissing his own country . This is not acceptable ..
