Jammu, April 11: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha conducted an on-the site inspection of the most critical section of Jammu-Srinagar highway, along with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways on Tuesday . He also expressed the optimism that unprecedented development in the road infrastructure will transform the connectivity landscape of the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
He made these comments in a tweet after making an on the spot inspection Banihal-Ramban section of the highway, which is prone to landslides and often traffic jams take place on this less than 40 kms stretch .
With the new tunnels coming up in this stretch of the highway, the travel will become smooth.
Manoj Sinha said, in another tweet, that 250 Kms of highway and the state of art infrastructure will boost connectivity and strengthen economic growth. 210 Kms 4-lane highway and 10 tunnels already stand completed and it has reduced the travel time between Srinagar and Jammu, enhancing the ease of living.
Sinha observed that J&K is witnessing unprecedented and impressive development of road infrastructure under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure inclusiveness of the growth process.
