Jammu, April 23: Jammu police has arrested two people involved in a theft case in Chowki Choura area of Akhnoor.
They were involved in stealing metal beam crash barriers.
Giving details police said that a complaint was lodged at police post Chowki Choura regarding theft of metal beam crash barrier along road side on National Highway near Chowki Choura.
Police said that in this regard a case was registered bearing number 121/2023 under section 379 of IPC was registered in Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
After this special police teams of PP Chowki Choura led by SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal assisted by SHO PS Akhnoor Inspector Harjeet Singh and incharge PP Chowki Choura PSI Pankaj Katoch did strenuous efforts and with the help of CCTV footage police teams finally arrested two suspects Radhay Sham S/o Inderjit Singh R/o Nariya, Maira Rajouri and Abdul Star S/o Abdul Aziz R/o Rani Batar, Thalka, Rajouri.
During questioning accused confessed their involvement in the above case and on their disclosure eight stolen metal beam crash barrier were recovered from their possession in presence of EMIC Chowki Choura.
Police said that the accused have confessed involvement of some more persons and more arrests are likely to be made in this regard.
