New Delhi, April 27 The Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday spoke in tough tone to his Chinese counterpart Li Shangfu about the tense standoff situation at the LAC in eastern Ladakh where China has created a turbulent situation for the past over three years.
Adopting a very realistic line and reminding Shangfu .of the violation of the agreements of peace and tranquility committed by China , Rajnath Singh “ categorically conveyed the development of relations between India and China is premised on the prevalence of peace and tranquility on the borders..”
He also told his Chinese counterpart , during the course of his bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation ( SCO) in New Delhi on Thursday that , “ all issues at the Line of Actual Control ( LAC) need to be resolved in accordance with existing bilateral agreements and commitments.,” and he reiterated , according to s statement issued by the ministry of defence after the meeting between two ministers that “ the violation of the existing agreements has eroded the entire basis of bilateral relations and disengagement at the border will logically be followed with de-escalation.”
The two Ministers had frank discussions about the developments in the India-China border areas as well as bilateral relations, the statement said.
