Drass, July 26 Defencce Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday warned Pakistan that India would cross the Line of Control if it dares to repeat the misadventure of Kargil war of the summer of 1999,, while he paid tributes to the brave hearts who had laid down their lives to win the Himalayan war 24 hours ago.
Rajnath Singh, while recalling the Kargil war days of 1999 , took opportunity to warn Pakistan that it should not think that the decision at that time not to cross the LoC is permanent. “ We could have crossed the LoC that time , and we can cross it anytime , and will cross definitely if provoked.”
Addressing the troops and the army generals who had gathered to pay tributes to 559 Kargil warriors whose sacrifices made the victory possible- July 26 is celebrated every year as victory day of Kargil war as it was on this day the Indian army had declared its decisive victory against Pakistan which had initiated and launched surreptitious war, Rajnath Singh said that India could have crossed the LoC that time but it stayed firm to its commitment of peace . But this should not be construed that the Indian army could not have crossed the LoC , it could but it was bound by its commitment to peace . inherent Indian values and the international laws.
“ Let me make it clear , and assure the nation , that we could have crossed the Loc in 1999, and we can cross LoC and we will cross LoC if India is messed up with,” he said .
This was a profound message to Pakistan that it should not take India’s wish for pace as a guarantee that it can provoke India . “ We will respond by crossing the LoC.”
