Jammu, January 02: To ease the situation arising out of of striking transporters for second day running on Tuesday, the government will open talks with the protesters to resolve the contentious law.
Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla is to hold a meeting with All India Motor Transport Congress regarding the hit-and-run clause in the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita which prescribes ten year punishment in such cases. Transporters across the country are protesting against Section 106 (2) of the rule passed.
