Srinagar, Sept 1: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Altaf Thakur has been reappointed as the party’s spokesman for Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP announced on Monday.
In his remarks, Thakur expressed his gratitude to the BJP’s national leadership, including National President J. P. Nadda, National General Secretary and J&K affairs in-charge Tarun Chugh , JK BJP President Sat Sharma and BJP J&K General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Koul, for reposing faith in him.
“I sincerely thank the leadership for this responsibility once again. I will work with renewed energy and dedication to further strengthen the party’s base in Jammu and Kashmir, even more than before,” Thakur said after his reappointment.
Party leaders said the move reflects the leadership’s confidence in Thakur’s communication skills and grassroots connect, particularly at a time when the BJP is pushing to consolidate its position in the Union Territory.
