Jammu September 4, 2025: The University of Jammu (JU) has decided to go ahead with the State Eligibility Test (SET) on September 7, 2025, despite bad weather and opposition from candidates.
Many students appearing for the exam have raised concerns, saying that the ongoing heavy rains and widespread disruption in Jammu and Kashmir will make it very difficult for them to reach exam centres. Several highways remain closed, while train services are being delayed or cancelled. Many families are still struggling to recover after floodwaters entered homes, leaving daily life and transport systems in chaos.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted brief showers in Jammu division between September 4 and 7, with moderate rainfall expected in some districts between the evening of September 8 and the morning of September 9.
However, JU authorities issued a fresh notification confirming that the SET exam will not be postponed. “It is once again notified for all candidates that JKSET/LASET 2024-25 examination shall be conducted as per schedule – September 7, 2025,” the notification from the Member Secretary of the JK SET Agency stated.
