5th September 2025: A two-week Refresher Course for Deputy Superintendents of Police commenced today at the Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy, Udhampur. The training program was designated under the close supervision of worthy Director SKPA with the aims to enhance the professional competence, legal knowledge and leadership skills of the officers by acquainting them with emerging trends and challenges in policing. The programme was formally inaugurated by Shri Rajesh Bali, IPS, SSP, Dy. Director (Outdoor/Indoor) SKPA. Dy.SsP from different districts and units of J&K Police are participating in the program.
On the opening day, officers from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted detailed sessions on the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The sessions covered key provisions, recent amendments, practical aspects of investigation, and the role of police in effectively countering threats to national security under the legal framework of the Act. The session on Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) was also attended by Prob. Dy.SsP and PSIs who are presently undergoing Basic Induction Course.
The course will continue over the next two weeks, featuring interactive sessions, expert lectures, and case studies on diverse subjects related to policing, law enforcement, and internal security.
The course is being coordinated by Sh. Rakesh Sambyal, CPO, assisted by ASI Rajinder Singh, member faculty.
