Jammu, October 7: In J&K for September 2025, the 2-Wheeler category witnessed a growth of 12.71% at 7876 units in September 2025, as compared to 6988 units in September 2024.The 3- category witnessed a downfall of -13.08% at 950 units in September 2025, as compared to 1093 units in September 2024. The Commercial Wheeler category witnessed a growth of 22.78% at 760 units in September 2025, as compared to 619 units in September 2024.The Construction Equipment category witnessed a downfall of -28.57% at 20 units in September 2025, as compared to 28 units in September 2024.The Passenger Vehicle category witnessed a Growth of 15.75% at 4379 units in September 2025, as compared to 3783 units in September 2024.The Tractor Vehicle category witnessed a downfall of -7.47% at 223 units in September 2025, as compared to 241 units in September 2024.

In J&K total retail is 14208 in September 2025 as compared to 12752 in September 2024 thereby registering a growth of 11.42% YoY.

Mr Sanjay Aggarwal, Chairperson, Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations Jammu said that reflecting on September 2025 Auto Retail performance, “September 2025 was an exceptionally unique month for automobile retail industry. The first three weeks were largely muted, with customers holding back in anticipation of the GST 2.0 reforms. However, the dynamics changed dramatically in the final week as Navratri festivities coincided with the implementation of lower GST rates, reviving customer sentiment and accelerating deliveries across most vehicle categories. As a result, in J&K the month ended with an overall 11.42 % YoY growth, showing positive momentum.

Mr Aggarwal said that Navratri 2025 will go down as one of the most memorable chapters in automobile retail journey — a true ‘Bachat Utsav’ unleashed by the visionary GST 2.0 reform announced by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji. For the first time ever, dealerships across J&K witnessed record-breaking footfalls and deliveries, a historic high during any festive season.

Mr Aggarwal shared that In J&K total retail is 10558 in Navratra period 2025 as compared to 7598 in Navratra Period 2024 thereby registering a growth of 38.96%

Mr Aggarwal said that, Affordable prices post-GST 2.0, coupled with aggressive OEM offers and easy finance availability, have drawn a new wave of first-time buyers into showrooms, even as upgraders opt for premium variants. The festive spirit is already evident — Dhanteras and Deepawali are expected to deliver all-time high sales, with auto dealerships witnessing surging enquiries and bookings across two-wheelers, passenger vehicles, and commercial fleets. He further said that Maruti Suzuki India Limited has done the price reduction on ex showroom prices on its various models along with various consumers’ offers making it more affordable to the consumers.

Mr Aggarwal said that, Overall, the near-term outlook for October 2025 and coming months remains highly optimistic, powered by economic resilience, festive euphoria, and the transformational impact of GST 2.0 — heralding a golden phase for in auto retail.
