Doda, Oct 8: A tragic incident occurred today in the Baswal area near Bagla Bharath, Doda, when a vehicle came under heavy stone shooting, causing panic among local residents.
According to initial reports, a vehicle bearing registration number JK06C-0825 (Blorea) was struck by falling debris, resulting in the death of one person on the spot and injuries to five others.
Local sources attributed the incident to loose soil and recent weather conditions that destabilized the hillside. The injured were immediately shifted in an Eco vehicle to GMC Doda for medical treatment.
Police and rescue teams rushed to the scene soon after receiving the information. Authorities have advised commuters to avoid traveling through the affected stretch until restoration and clearance work is completed.
