The session began with a formal welcome by Dr. Alpana Vohra, Head, MCMP Department, who emphasized the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence on communication, governance, healthcare, and professional ecosystems.
“AI is no longer a distant concept. It is shaping newsroom workflows, redefining public communication, and transforming how societies function. Preparing our students and professionals for this shift is not optional—it is essential,” she said.
The resource person, Dr. Ravia Gupta, delivered an engaging and comprehensive lecture that introduced participants to the evolving landscape of AI, its real-world applications, and its rapidly growing relevance in journalism, content creation, digital communication, and public health.
Dr. Gupta highlighted the importance of responsible AI usage, hands-on experimentation, and continuous learning to remain industry-ready. Through interactive discussions, demonstrations, and relatable examples, she simplified complex concepts—enabling students to understand how AI tools can enhance productivity, research, storytelling, and decision-making.
She also encouraged participants to embrace emerging technologies, stating,
“AI is not here to replace human creativity—it is here to enhance it. The future belongs to those who can combine human insight with technological intelligence.”
The workshop included live demonstrations of popular AI platforms used for content generation, data analysis, creative production, and communication tasks. Students actively participated in Q&A sessions, gaining clarity on both the opportunities and ethical challenges associated with AI adoption.
The session was coordinated by Mr. Akash Kumar, Faculty, MCMP Department, who ensured smooth conduct of the event and emphasized the need for practical, skill-based learning within academia.
Other faculty members present during the program included Dr. Gurpreet Kour and Dr. Neha Gupta, who applauded the initiative and its relevance for preparing students for future professional landscapes.
