Calls for Speedy Tendering and Advance Ration Stocking in Upper Regions in Banihal-Gool constituency;

Jammu, Nov. 18: Banihal, November 18: MLA Banihal Mr. Sajad Shaheen today chaired an extensive meeting of all Sub-Divisional and Sectoral level officers at the IRCON Guest House Krawa Banihal to review the winter preparedness and the progress of development works underway across the constituency.
The meeting was attended by SDM Banihal, SDM Ramsoo, Tehsildar Banihal, Tehsildar Khari, BMO Banihal, BMO Ukharhal, SDPO Banihal, Executive Engineers R&B and PMGSY, BDO Banihal, BDO Ramsoo, SHO Banihal, besides officers of Education, PDD, PHE & Irrigation, TSO Banihal, RDD, Agriculture, Forest, Social Welfare department, Sheep and Animal Husbandry department Fire Services and other concerned departments.
During the meeting, the MLA conducted a detailed review of the arrangements for snow clearance, availability of machinery, mobilisation of field staff, and the preparedness of essential services to deal with winter-related challenges. He stressed the need for establishing a coordinated and time-bound response mechanism to ensure uninterrupted connectivity and public service delivery during snowfall.
The issue of advance stocking of three months’ ration in the hilly and remote areas of the constituency was also discussed. Mr. Shaheen instructed the concerned officers to ensure that adequate supplies are positioned well before heavy snowfall so that no household faces hardship during winter.
The MLA further urged all departments to fast-track the tendering process of the remaining development works, directing that all procedural formalities be completed at the earliest to enable timely execution of projects. He emphasized strict adherence to timelines, improved monitoring, and accountability in the implementation of public welfare schemes.
The meeting also deliberated on the implementation of one-time fingerprint authentication for ration distribution, with directions to ensure that the system functions smoothly and does not cause inconvenience to beneficiaries.
Mr. Shaheen reiterated the commitment to strengthening infrastructure, improving service delivery, and ensuring seamless winter preparedness across the Banihal constituency. He called upon all departments to maintain close coordination and remain fully responsive to public needs throughout the winter season.
