Srinagar, Mar 20: Altaf Thakur, spokesperson of the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir, on Thursday extended warm Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to Muslims across the globe, the country, and especially to the people of the Union Territory.
In his message, Thakur said that Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the culmination of the holy month of Ramadan, is a festival that reflects the core values of compassion, generosity, and spiritual renewal. He expressed hope that the auspicious occasion would bring peace, prosperity, and happiness to people from all walks of life.
“Eid is not just a celebration but a reminder of the spirit of brotherhood, unity, and charity. It teaches us to care for the less fortunate and to strengthen the bonds that hold society together,” he said.
Extending his heartfelt wishes to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, Thakur prayed for well-being and positivity in every household. He said the lessons of Ramadan—patience, self-discipline, and empathy—should continue to guide individuals in their everyday lives.
Emphasizing communal harmony, he noted that festivals like Eid serve as an opportunity to reinforce mutual respect and peaceful coexistence among different communities. “Jammu and Kashmir has a rich legacy of cultural diversity and brotherhood. On this occasion, let us reaffirm our commitment to these values and work together for the development and prosperity of our region,” he added.
Thakur also appealed to people to celebrate the festival with joy while remembering the underprivileged, encouraging acts of kindness and charity.
He concluded by wishing for lasting peace and progress in Jammu and Kashmir and across the world.
