Jammu, July 18, 2026: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), PIU-Jammu, organised a plantation drive at Jatwal under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 3.0’ campaign on the Delhi–Amritsar–Katra Expressway (Package-15).
As part of the initiative, 250 saplings were planted to strengthen the green cover and support a healthier environment. The plantation drive reflects NHAI’s continued commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable infrastructure development.
The programme was led by Project Director, NHAI PIU-Jammu, Shri Rajeev Kumar, in the presence of NHAI officials, project staff and workers. He participated in the plantation activity and encouraged everyone to actively contribute towards protecting the environment by planting and nurturing trees.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Rajeev Kumar said that every tree planted today is a small step towards a greener tomorrow. He emphasised that increasing green cover is essential for improving environmental quality, preserving ecological balance and ensuring a sustainable future for the coming generations.
He urged everyone to plant more trees, take care of every sapling and make environmental conservation a shared responsibility.
The plantation drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from NHAI officials, project staff and workers, reaffirming NHAI’s commitment to creating greener highways and promoting sustainable development.
