July 20, 2026 : A tragic road accident was reported in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district after an Alto car lost control and plunged into a deep gorge near Aaramdhaka on the Banihal–Mangit road in Tehsil Khari.
Rescue teams comprising Banihal Police, QRT Khari, NGO volunteers and medical staff from Sub-District Hospital Banihal rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation.
A 50-year-old man, identified as Gulzar Ahmed Lone, died in the accident, while four others sustained injuries and were shifted to SDH Banihal for treatment. A nine-year-old child travelling in the car escaped unhurt.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
