Jammu, 08 August 2026: NHAI Regional Office J&K, in association with Cube Highways, organised a Road Safety Seminar titled “Safer Highways, Safer Tomorrow” at Jammu, aimed at promoting safer highway practices, strengthening work-zone safety and enhancing awareness on accident prevention and trauma care.

The programme was graced by Dr. Anurag Mishra, Professor, IIT Jammu, as Chief Guest and Dr. Sarah, Assistant Professor, IIT Jammu, as Eminent Guest. Dr. Ankit Kathuria, Associate Professor, IIT Jammu, delivered a technical presentation on Surrogate Safety Measures, highlighting proactive approaches for assessment and improvement of road safety.
A team of experts from Cube Highways delivered presentations on Work Zone Safety and Safety during Operation & Maintenance (O&M) of highways. Dr. Akhil Gupta, Ortho & Spine Surgeon, shared the medical perspective on road accident injuries, trauma and prevention.
The seminar was attended by Shri R.S. Yadav, Regional Officer, NHAI RO J&K; Shri Ish Gupta, Project Director, PIU Udhampur; Shri Shubham Yadav, Project Director, PIU Ramban; and Shri Akashdeep Singh, Project Director, PIU Srinagar, along with concessionaires, Independent Engineers, Authority Engineers, contractors, consultants, doctors and other highway professionals.
The participants also took the Road Safety Oath, reaffirming their commitment towards safer highways and responsible road use. The programme concluded with a closing address by Shri R.S. Yadav, Regional Officer, NHAI RO J&K, emphasising collective responsibility and continued adoption of safer engineering, construction and O&M practices across National Highways in J&K.
