Prominent political activists from Shopian Join Apni Party; new entrants receive a warm welcome
Srinagar, August 17: Apni Party Provincial President Mohammad Ashraf Mir on Monday said that the “elected government in Jammu and Kashmir has miserably failed to provide effective governance to the people.” He also accused the ruling party of “betraying the people’s mandate” by failing to fulfil the promises it made to the people during its campaign for the 2024 Assembly elections.
Mir made these remarks today while welcoming several political and social leaders and activists from Shopian into the party fold.
The prominent among the new entrants included Senior Political Worker from PDP Mohammad Yusuf Wani hailing from Safanagri Zainapora Shopain, NC worker Sajad Aziz from Heff Shirmal Zainapora, Mohammad Asif Bhat, Farhan Ali, and others. They all joined the party along with their associates. They joined the party during a special event held at the party headquarters in Srinagar.
Addressing the occasion, Mohammad Ashraf Mir warmly welcomed the new entrants and assured them that the party leadership would stand by them as they work to serve the people in their respective areas.
Taking a dig at the government, Mir said it has failed to provide any relief to the people who had given it a massive mandate, hoping that it would address their issues and grievances.
He said that unemployment remains the biggest challenge and accused the government of failing to take any meaningful measures to create employment opportunities for the youth.
He said, “The ruling party made several promises during its election campaign for the 2024 Assembly elections. However, it has failed to fulfil even a single promise so far. For instance, it had claimed that it would provide one lakh jobs soon after coming to power. More than two years have passed, but it has done nothing for the unemployed youth. Not a single initiative has been taken by this government so far to create job opportunities.”
He urged the people to “stop falling prey to the traditional political parties and refrain from electing them again and again, despite their repeated failure to deliver on their promises and their history of deceiving the people with false promises and fake slogans.”
