Srinagar, August 22, 2026: Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Moulvi Mohammad Umar Farooq today formally opened the art gallery of noted artist Mustaq Ahmed Mir at Barzulla, Srinagar, and appreciated his remarkable work, particularly his Islamic calligraphy.
On the occasion, Mirwaiz said that Mustaq Mir Sahib’s personal journey was a deeply inspiring example of courage, perseverance and determination. Despite battling cancer for nearly a decade, he has continued to pursue his passion for art with extraordinary resolve and strength.
Mirwaiz said that Mustaq Mir Sahib’s beautiful Islamic calligraphy reflected exceptional talent, dedication and devotion, and described his perseverance in the face of prolonged illness as an inspiration for others.
He prayed that Almighty Allah grant Mustaq Mir Sahib complete healing and good health, bless him with continued strength, and enable him to continue enriching and inspiring people through his art.
