Altaf Bukhari shocked at condition of roads in Suthra Shahi , raises questions on NC’s performance. In a post on X, Apny Party President Altaf Bukhari said, “I happened to visit the marriage hall at Suthra Shahi in Srinagar, where the marriage ceremony of my party colleague’s sister was being held. To my utter surprise, I saw the pathetic condition of the roads leading to the venue. I could hardly believe my eyes that an area which can be seen from the very window of the Chief Minister’s room at the Civil Secretariat is in such a dilapidated condition. To my further surprise, upon reaching the marriage hall, I was informed that this supposedly well-established marriage hall does not have a proper drainage system to dispose of the sewage and other wastes. I would never have believed it had I not seen it with my own eyes. Witnessing such a glaring developmental deficit just a few paces away from Jammu and Kashmir’s seat of power raises a fundamental question: How do the leaders of the ruling NC sleep at night, having been entrusted with the people’s mandate. This is a classic example of how a public policy disaster is unfolding in Jammu and Kashmir, and the situation demands serious introspection from those entrusted with the responsibility of governance and the people’s mandate. The people too must introspect and understand how big a mistake it was to entrust the mandate of all the eight Srinagar constituencies to a party that appear to be least bothered about their basic concerns.”
