SRINAGAR, October 1:

Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari
on Thursday expressed deep shock and grief over the demise of Javid
Ahmad, senior reporter of Rising Kashmir newspaper who died of a
massive heart attack.

In a condolence message issued here, Bukhari expressed solidarity with
the bereaved family, Rising Kashmir management and its editorial staff
and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul. “I am shocked
beyond words. The death of a young journalist is not an irreparable
loss for the family or the press/media house in which he or she works
but for the society as a whole,” Bukhari observed.

He said that journalists are a valuable asset for any democratic
society and loss of any journalist is an irretrievable loss for the
people. “May Javid find a place in Jannat and his loved ones find
strength at this difficult time. I pray to Almighty Allah to give
courage to the bereaved family, relatives, his colleagues in Rising
Kashmir and friends in the media in particular to bear this huge
loss,” Bukhari said in his condolence message.
