The Indian army has suffered casualties of an officer and two soldiers in an ongoing gunfight along LoC in Kupwara sector while repulsing a determined infiltration bid from across the borderline, on Sunday., the sources confirmed to JK NEWS TODAY on Sunday afternoon.
The army had detected suspicious movement along the LoC in Machil sector in Kupwara on Sunday morning and the troops had challenged the group of terrorists seeking to intrude into the Indian side , and in the ensuing gun fight, one terrorist was killed in the initial fight.
Later,it is learnt that an officer and two soldiers were also killed . And the number of casualties of the terrorists has gone up to three.
The encounter is on, a source said. The clear picture would be known only after the gun battle is over.
