A team of Cancer super-specialist doctors from Jammu city’s first and only Exclusive Cancer Hospital, American Oncology Institute (AOI) organised a Cancer Screening and Awareness Camp today at the Rotary Bhawan, Jammu. The event was organised by AOI team in association with Rotary Club Jammu Tawi, Rotary Club Rajouri and Rotary Club Trikuta. A Cancer Screening Camp was organised where almost 50 patients were screened and examined by the Cancer specialists and a Cancer Awareness Health Talk was also held for the Rotary Club members and for the general public which was attended by almost 100 people. The event was held under strict COVID-19 protocols with all people coming for the camp being provided masks before entering and being screened for temperature and oxygen saturation.
Dr. Nadeem Shoket from AOI Jammu gave a Cancer Awareness Talk at the event and apprised the people present at the event about the benefits of early detection of cancer and about the recent advancements in Cancer treatment and care which are all present under one roof at American Oncology Institute at ASCOMS Hospital, Jammu. Dr. Mayank Puri, Unit Head of AOI Jammu said, “American Oncology Institute is the first and only exclusive Cancer Hospital of Jammu and all types of Cancer treatment and care ranging from Chemotherapy, Radiation Therapy, Cancer Surgery, PET-CT Scan, post surgery ICU care are available under one roof and it is our endeavour to bring the state of the art, international standard Cancer care to all the residents of the Jammu & Kashmir region.”
The team of doctors from American Oncology Institute constituted of Dr. Vikas Roshan and Dr. Jagmohan Singh from Dept. Of Radiation Oncology, Dr. Satyanker Gupta and Dr. Nadeem Shoket from Dept. Of Medical Oncology and Dr. Paras Khanna from Dept. Of Surgical Oncology. The event was attended by Anand Jain (IPS), the Director of Anti-Corruption Bureau, J&K as the Chief Guest and was also attended by Rotarians from RC Jammu Tawi, Rajouri, Jammu Trikuta. V.K. Mehra, President of Rotary Club, Jammu Tawi while welcoming the Chief guest and the doctors fraternity from American Oncology Institute said, “Cancer is growing in the modern times of today and it is the need of the hour that Cancer Awareness events like these are organised on a regular basis so that general public is aware of the latest advances in Cancer treatment and prevention. I am happy that now Jammu also has an exclusive Cancer Hospital in form of American Oncology Institute which brings the best of Cancer care to the region.” Anand Jain (IPS), the Chief Guest at the event said, “I have seen the benefits of cancer awareness and early screening in my own family when my father was treated for Cancer after early detection and he lived a healthy life after his proper treatment by a team of doctors including Dr. Vikas Roshan who is currently with American Oncology Institute Jammu.”
Other dignitaries present at the event were Rotarians Dr. Dushyant Choudhary, Ashish Langer from RC Rajouri, Dr. Ram Kumar Gupta, President RC Jammu Trikuta, Sushma Gupta and Anamika, Deepak Gupta, Raman Wazir, Rajinder Kapoor, Pradeep Jain, Anil Gupta, Jaswant Rai Gupta, Rajesh Gupta among others.
