J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday declared that the farming sector is the “ top priority of the government”, while hailing Prime Minister Narenadra Modi’s move to release next instalment of Rs. 18,000 crore for 9 crore farmers across the country.

Manoj Sinha was addressing local farmers at Kisan Kendra , Jammu , where he said that the Government’s move to help farmers financially will go long way in enabling them to do better and earn better .
The Prime Minister disbursed Rs. 18,000 crore for 9 crore farmers under P M kisan Yojana directly into their bank accounts with just one click in a historic move and commitment toward the farming community.

“With an aim to promote farm mechanization and creating self-sufficient villages, in this financial year, 500 tractors with Rs 2 lakh subsidy, besides Power Tillers and PaddyThreshers are being distributed among the farmers across J&K:,” said Manoj Sinha

He added that four Pesticides laboratories are to be established in J&K. Modern storage systems to come up in UT.100% coverage under PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi has been ensured so that no beneficiary is left behind in availing the benefits of the scheme.
