Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy,today visited BSF Frontier HQ Jammu and reviewed the international border situation in Jammu during his interaction with officers. He also interacted with the troopers and commanded their morale.
The minister was received by N S Jamwal, IG FTR Jammu . G Kishan Reddy is on a visit to BSF HQ to meet the BSF personnel.
During his visit to BSF HQ, Reddy held a meeting with FTR IG and other BSF Officers.N S Jamwal, IG gave a detailed operational presentation to the Minister on the current security situation on the Jammu Border. During the presentation, IG BSF explained the threats and challenges on the Jammu border and robust Border domination plan of BSF in place to counter these challenges.
The minister was also shown the different systems and innovation adopted by the BSF in Border to neutralise the trans border threats from other side of the border.
During his visit to FTR HQ Jammu, Reddy , MoS (H) also addressed a Prahari Sammelan, where about 250 BSF Officers and men were present . Firstly he paid his tribute to the Martyrs of the BSF who had made supreme sacrifice for unity and integrity of the Country. He lauded the capabilities of BSF personnel who work in different conditions, be it snow bound areas, or hot desert terrain, or difficult area of Rann of Kutch or malaria prone stretches or Naxal prone areas.
During the Sammelan, minister emphasized that BSF, being the First Line of Defence, has been doing excellent duties on International Border specially on Jammu IB and is very successful in eliminating the threats from Counterpart, be it infiltration , tunneling , smuggling or drones. The Minister said that BSF has been doing its duties in very harsh and difficult conditions 24x7x365 but has always stood to the challenges successfully.
Reddy told the audience that it is a matter of pride for him to see the Mahila Praharies sitting amongst Jawans and rendering their services on border with equal zeal and enthusiasm.
The Minister appreciated the recent success of Jammu Ftr wherein the BSF troops were successful in eliminating intruders from across the border, seizing large quantities of Narcotics and detecting underground tunnels on Jammu Border. He complimented the BSF for shooting down a Hexacopter, coming from across the border, carrying Arms and Ammunition in Samba Border.
Reddy also said that due to relentless efforts of Hon,ble PM of India, Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, the BSF has been provided with modern weaponry and state of the art technology to effectively guard the International borders of India against the new threats.He also said that PM and HM have been working continuously to provide all possible assistance to BSF men. Various welfare schemes like Ayushman Bharat,Skilled Development have been started under the guidance of PM in this regard.
The Minister wished BSF a great success in all its future endeavors and reposed huge faith on its capabilities. He also presented fruits basket to the troops. A memento on behalf of Jammu Frontier was presented to Minister by N S Jamwal, IG BSF Jammu.
