Jammu, April 20:
Pakistan is feeling the pain inflicted on its soldiers and people by the terrorists allegedly operating from the soil of Afghanistan . The new government of Pakistan is finding itself painted in corner on this issue as Balochistan bordering Afghanistan is facing the heat of the terrorists’ actions – killing their people, and the security forces also killing the same very people of Balochistan . At the moment , Balochistan is not simmering, but boiling .
A stark reality facing Pakistan today is that it is unable to defend Balochis against the terror attacks that kill people of all ages, not even sparing the women and children. This is one dangerous aspect of the whole game as it is becoming more and more evident that Tehreek-e-Taliban , Pakistan – TTP – is mounting terror attacks in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. That is spelling disaster for the masses who have been given false hope that the areas have been cleared of terrorists . Trusted by the gullible internally displaced people , thy returned and now they find that they are caught in between devil and deep sea .. They are unable to go back to the areas in Pakistan, relatively safe from terror-violence and at the same time the terrorists have made it impossible for them to live there.
This is one set of tragedy that they are faced with. Second is more harmful .They are killed by Pakistan’s security forces as and when they protest against their excesses. Recently a youth was killed by security vehicle at Chagai , the same place where Pakistan had detonated nuclear explosions in May 1998. The agitated people took to streets to protest the death of the youth. The protestors were fired upon by the Frontier Corps . That resulted in death and injuries.
Squeezed by death from the side of terrorists as also the security forces , the people in Balochistan and their representatives have started asking , “ Where should we go”. They are demanding answers , and there are no answers to their genuine and real-time grievances .Life for Balochis has become miserable and they want to live a normal life but that has been disrupted by the terrorists and also the security forces. It is a situation of the terrorists from both sides – one without uniform and others with uniform.
Prof Dr. Shahnaz Baloch of the Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) said in the National Assembly on Tuesday that though her party had only four members in the house, it represented a large number of people. In a simple and plain language , she raised the issue of the troubles faced by the people of Balochistan, how they were being targeted by terrorists and the security forces alike.

The BNP-M lawmaker said in the past two to three days, Baloch people were killed and it seemed that it was happening under an “agenda”. She said whenever they did some activities through the parliament, an accident happened in Balochistan and “people are killed”, Pakistani media quoted her saying in the National Assembly while spotlighting the tough conditions in the province that has snatched the right to live from the residents.
The BNP-M lawmaker referred to the firing of the security forces on protestors and stated that on Monday again. “ many people were killed because of which we staged a walkout,” she said while referring to the Chagai incident where security forces opened fire on protesters.
Her concluding sentence was telling about the situation and plight of the masses . “ Tell me , where should we and the BNP-M go?” Her next point was equally poignant :: “ At least give us the right to live”.
