ASSOCHAM Ladakh UT Development Council today raised concern over delay in industrial policy of Ladakh Union Territory.
chaired by Tashi Khachu, Chairman, ASSOCHAM Ladakh UT Development Council, the Council meeting was attended by Trade and Industry members of ASSOCHAM Ladakh.
The meeting started with the welcome address by Chairman Tashi Khachu followed by a brief introduction of ASSOCHAM by Ms. Pooja Ahluwalia, Assistant Secretary General (ASG) ASSOCHAM.
During the open house discussions members raised their concern over delay in Industrial policy for Ladakh. It was also discussed that the authorities should plan and execute a waste management policy for Ladakh to preserve the ecology of Ladakh and attract more foreign tourists in the region.
“Industrial policy for Ladakh is the need of the hour, ASSOCHAM urges Ladakh administration to speedup the process of drafting industrial policy, so that the economy of Ladakh can by revived,” said Tashi Khachu, Chairman, ASSOCHAM Ladakh UT Development Council.
The issues like problems being faced by the Hoteliers to get license for Hotels, NOC for Pollution control and problem in Marketing of local products were also discussed during the meeting.
It was assured to the members that a proper representation to the issues will be submitted to the UT administration. The meeting concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Amit Khajuria, Assistant Director, ASSOCHAM Ladakh UT Development Council.
