The Indian army has sent a strategic message to the nation and China alike. It has released pictures of a cricket match being played in the Himalayan heights in eastern Ladakh along the Line of Actual Control ( LAC) to demonstrate that how the things are under control in the theatre of nearly-three-year standoff with China.

Pictures show Indian soldiers playing a cricket match in the Valley surrounded by snowcapped peals in subzero temperature, exhibiting the high-morale of the troops who have been weathering extreme weathers and an all-time staring Chinese troops in eastern Ladakh. China had moved its troops very , very close to the LAC, threatening the peace and tranquility at the border line , in violation of the agreements between the two countries that the troops would not cause any situation which would disturb situation on the border.

A set of pictures released by Fire and Fury Corps that maintains its presence along the LAC , Line of Control , and Actual Ground Position Line along borders with China, Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Siachen glacier , showed jawans in high spirits .
The pictures released in a tweet by the Corps said that “ Patiala Brigade #Trishul Division organized a cricket competition in extreme high altitude area in subzero temperatures with full enthusiasm and zeal . We make the impossible possible .”
The tweet means much more than depicting the pictures of soldiers playing a cricket match at the dizzying Himalayan heights along the LAC , it is embodiment of the Indian army’s mood in the adverse weather and border situation.

The cricket match , with a tag line , “ We make the impossible possible” is a strategic message to China that the Indian army has the capacity and will to turn an adverse situation to its advantage – it is not fatigued by the three-year-old stand off . It stands firm and reserves the will to respond to any situation as it may come.
Since April 2020 , the Indian army has been witness to aggressive posturing of Chinese troops, loss of 20 of its men in Galwan Valley clashes in June 2020 , but the spirit of keeping things in the favour of the Indian nation .
Northern Command chief Lt. Gen. Upendra Dwivedi had spelled out the strategy that the Indian army has for any aggressive situation at the LAC. While speaking at an investiture ceremony on Thursday , he had declared:” Any adverse aggressive designs or attempts ( by China) will definitely be met with appropriate posturing of forces and s strong intent.”
The cricket match summed up the mood of soldiers in the most challenging and adverse situation . The messaging was clear, that they are strong enough to challenge extreme weather, tough terrain , dizzying heights . And the situation along the LAC is yet another game that they can play with finesse .. They have demonstrated that they are ready to face any situation , as Gen. Dwivedi said : We are ever-ready to respond to any attempt to unilaterally change the status quo.”
