Srinagar, June 24: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday distributed appointment letters to the family members of the J&K policemen who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty at a solemn function in Srinagar.

In a tweet , the Home Minister said “ The martyrdom of numerous jawans of the Jammu and Kashmir Police who laid down their lives batting terrorists and securing innocent fellow citizens is a testament to what Kashmir and its people stand for.”

Amit Shah also said that he met today “ family members of such martyrs in Srinagar and distributed appointment letters on behalf of the J&K govt to the closest kins of the martyrs.”

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Director General of Police Dilbag Singh were present on the occasion.
