JAMMU: Apni Party President, Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari on Tuesday said that his Party will field candidates for both assembly seats i.e., Nagrota, and Budgam.

The names of these candidates would be announced following the PAC meeting in Srinagar tomorrow.

The Apni Party President, Altaf Bukhari chaired a crucial meeting with the Party leaders of the Province in the Jammu Office at Gandhi Nagar before addressing a press conference.

He was accompanied by the Apni Party’s Provincial President, Jammu, S. Manjit Singh, and other leaders.

While addressing the media in Jammu, Bukhari said that his Party would be contesting bye-polls in Nagrota, and Budgam, and accordingly, the candidate’s names would be announced.

Responding to a question, he said that the National Conference Govt in J&K, and the Central Govt of BJP have failed to deliver as per the promises, both parties made to the people in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. Therefore, these parties shall reject both the ruling parties in the scheduled assembly bye-polls on two seats of J&K.

“The people have lost their faith as NC as well as BJP have failed to fulfil their promises. J&K has not seen any development, no electricity waiver, no social schemes, no free-200 units to the people, no release of the jailed youth, unemployment on rise, no regularisation of daily wagers and Kashmir’s fruit growers suffered unprecedented losses as the Jammu-Srinagar Highway remained closed for 17 days,” he said, criticising the ruling National Conference.

He also questioned the BJP for its inability to deliver to the people of Jammu, who voted the majority of their candidates to the Legislative Assembly, yet the recent flood victims of Jammu faced negligence. These BJP MLAs even failed to get special packages for their voters.

He said that these ruling parties have lost their faith among the people. Therefore, the people shall vote for the Apni Party candidates in Nagrota and Budgam in the constituencies of assembly during the upcoming bye-polls.

He recalled how the Apni Party following August 5, 2019 decision met the Union Govt and ensured full protection to the jobs for the local youth, and land in favour of the residents of Jammu and Kashmir that no other party could do.

While condemning the ruling parties, he said that both the parties are hand in glove with each other.

“The NC is ruling in J&K, yet they claim their inability to fulfil their own promises, and similarly, the BJP did nothing for the people of Jammu. These parties are engaged in claims, and counter-claims with each other,” he added.
