Budgam, March 18: On the directions of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to manage the scene of crime in brutal murder case of a woman, Jammu and Kashmir Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team reached the crime spot and took evidences.

The team was headed by deputy director FSL Srinagar alongwith a DNA, cyber and finger print experts.

Giving details, an official of directorate of FSL told JK News Today that these experts visited the scene of crime and used their expertise to collect the pieces of evidence to link the crime with the criminal in the heinous and gruesome murder of a young lady in Budgam a few days ago.

“The team visited the crime scene to assess the crime location and made a thorough logical crime scene search in the area. During the course of the search multiple long hair strands were recovered throughout the area where the accused had confessed of having dragged the victim through,” he said.

“Moreover, blood spots were recovered from two immovable sites in the building which can prove instrumental in linking the victim with the crime scene. Both the locations were marked and net swabs were taken for forensic examinations. The samples collected by the experts were handed over to the police team who were directed to submit them for forensic examinations following chain of custody. The whole process was photographed to preserve the event,” he added.

This shocking and gruesome murder incident was widely reported in media and people from all walks of life condemned it and demanded capital punishment to the accuse. The lady was cut into pieces after the murder and body was recovered in multiple pieces at different locations at Padampura area of the district Budgam.

After the outrage district administration and police had to use all their resources to control the situation. The police, however, acted swiftly and managed to catch hold of the perpetrator of this heinous crime. Upon the disclosure of the accused police conducted search operation at large scale and on his confession recovery of the body parts of the victim and other belongings were made from different locations. Police with the help of FSL unit of District Budgam had already collected different pieces of evidences which were subsequently forwarded to FSL Srinagar for examinations.

However, further collection of the evidences by the high level team from J&K FSL will add to the case and criminal justice.
