The District administration Kathua has taken adequate measures for decent cremation/burial of the deceased persons who die due to Covid infection.
A meeting chaired by the District Development Commissioner, Om Parkash Bhagat discussed the measures with the officers of various departments here.
The Chief Medical Officer, Executive Officer Municipal Committee, Additional Director, Fire and Emergencies Department were asked to depute officials for taking the bodies of the deceased (COVID-19) for decent cremation/burial following all the prescribed protocols.
The CMO Kathua was asked to provide the ambulance and staff for carrying the bodies to the cremation ground.
The Executive Officer MC was instructed to keep the staff ready for carrying the dead bodies for the last rites. Fire and emergencies department was directed to make the arrangement of firewood for cremation.
The DDC said that it is the collective responsibility of different departments of administration and they have to work as a team to accord safe and dignified burial to the deceased persons who fell to COVID-19 infection. He called for maintaining a close coordination among the concerned departments by sharing information by creating a common social media platform.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Atul Gupta; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Devinder Paul, Addtional SP, Ramnish Gupta; President MC Kathua Naresh Sharma, besides, Tehsildar Nagri Parole, Medical Superintendent GMC Kathua, Executive Officer MC Kathua.
