RAMBAN, NOVEMBER 20: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today convened a meeting with officers to review the commencement of academic activities and the process for starting construction of school buildings for Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) Ramban and KV Gool. He also reviewed progress on implementing the Supreme Court’s directions on stray animals management in the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional SP Ramban Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, ACR Shokat Hayat Mattoo, ACD Sheraz Ahmed and other concerned officers.
The Deputy Commissioner asked Kendriya Vidyalaya officials to inspect the accommodations provided by the District Administration and start classwork accordingly. He directed ACD to ensure toilet facilities and essential maintenance at both locations.
The DC also reviewed the status of land already transferred to the Education Department for further transfer to KV authorities. He instructed the CEO and KV officials to expedite the land transfer process to enable early start of construction work at both sites.
Reviewing directions concerning stray dog management, the DC directed the CEO, EOs of Municipal Committees and all BDOs to establish designated feeding spots and develop dog shelters using available infrastructure. He instructed that stray dogs be shifted only after sterilisation and vaccination as per the Animal Birth Control (Dog) Rules, 2023. He further directed officers to secure railway stations, bus stands, hospitals and educational institutions by preventing stray dogs congregation.
The DC also directed the CMO to maintain adequate stocks of anti-rabies vaccines and immunoglobulin. He instructed the CEO and DAHO to conduct awareness sessions in schools on preventive behaviour and first aid related to dog bite cases.
