Jammu, December 17 ( JKNT) Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh on Saturday said that “ law of the land will take its course” in regard to the formal announcement of compensation for Khalid Muzzaffar Wani, brother of top militant leader Burhan Wani.
Singh ,whose party BJP has come under fire for being party to the clearance of Rs four lakh compensation to the next of Kin of Khalid , said that “ the whole issue of compensation or otherwise would depend on the outcome of the investigations into the FIR lodged with police in April last year.”.
The Deputy Chief Minister was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function .
However, the PDP is all for the compensation for Khalid. It has argued that the militant’s brother deserved compensation in favour of his survivors because he cannot be punished because his brother was a militant.
